Young Company
The Young Company is YATI's termly ensemble for young people aged 13–18. The Young Company meets weekly, working with professional theatre-makers towards public performances of the highest standard.
The aim of the Young Company is to nurture and inspire the next generation of theatre-makers through devising, and performing musical theatre, contemporary and classical texts. We also encourage young people interested in directing, producing, stage management and design to get involved.
The Young Company is formed each term by audition. Performances are generally scheduled for the last week of term or the first week of the holidays depending on the production and venue used.
Rehearsals are every Sunday 10am - 1pm at YATI.
Our Spring 2025 production is BethMac
A new musical by Richard Free.
Performance dates: 11th - 13th April.

BethMac is a high-school set, gender-reversed musical version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The show follows the rise of star lacrosse player, Beth MacBride, as she climbs the school hierarchy from teammate to team captain, to Senior Class President and finally to the pinnacle of the Dunsinane School Prize. At the urging of her boyfriend, Stewart, and the prophecies of 3 teenage goths, she disposes of the obstacles in her path. These come in the shape of Charlotte Duncan, current Class President, teammate Bianca and school heartthrob, Lane Anderson… Until finally, there is only one person in her way: little Miss Perfect, Alicia Macduff. ​
Auditions will be held on: Sunday, 5 Jan 2025, from 10 AM onwards

Who can audition?: Anyone aged 13 and over is welcome to audition.
What to prepare:
• A song of your choice (must be age-appropriate)
• A contemporary monologue, no longer than 2 minutes
Commitment:
• Rehearsals: Every Sunday from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM, including half term
• Production Week: Commencing 7 Apr 2025 (you must be available everyday)
• Performances: 11 - 13 Apr 2025
