Taking our work outside the building and inviting groups to create in our space
At YATI we offer free drama and theatre workshops to local groups and community spaces. Every session is designed to let imagination run wild while fostering important life skills such as practicing public speaking or storytelling. Every session can be tailored to the group depending on individual needs or topic. Our goal is to make the world of theatre accessible to everyone and to help Islington become a happier place.

At YATI, we host termly shows, we would love to offer your community groups some complimentary tickets to our shows. This can sometimes include a Q&A with the creative team. If interested, please get in touch as this is subject to availability.

Case Study: YMCA
In Summer Term 2024, YATI partnered with YMCA London City and North to deliver a 12-week drama programme for young residents experiencing homelessness. The sessions were designed as a consistent, welcoming space—offering participants a chance to step away from the pressures of daily life and spend 90 minutes each week having fun, connecting with others, and trying something new. Through games, group work, and creative exploration, we quickly found that the group responded particularly well to script work. This discovery led us to introduce them to new stories, playwrights, and characters, opening up a world of theatre that many had never experienced before.

As the programme progressed, a core group of five young people emerged who not only engaged consistently but developed a real interest in the arts. Their enthusiasm, talent, and curiosity stood out, and as a result, they have since joined the wider YATI community through our Stagedoor bursary scheme. This case study highlights the powerful role of consistency, creativity, and opportunity in building trust and unlocking potential in young people facing significant life challenges.
